This Week in Flagstaff: County Fair Finale, Art in the Park, and More September Happenings
The Coconino County Fair winds down, Art in the Park fills Wheeler Park, and the Flagstaff Music Festival headlines a busy month of September events.
There's no bad time to be in Flagstaff, but this first full week of September is a great one. Here's what's happening around town this week and through the rest of the month.
County Fair Finale and Art in the Park
There's no bad time to be in Flagstaff, but this first full week of September is a great one. The Coconino County Fair wraps up its run at Fort Tuthill County Park through Monday, September 7, with all the rides, 4-H animals, and fair food you'd expect. If you're staying downtown, Art in the Park takes over Wheeler Park Saturday through Monday, so you can browse local artists and crafts between fair trips.
Music on Heritage Square
Heritage Square stays busy too. Music on the Square keeps the free concerts rolling on Fridays through September 11, and on September 12 the always-free Flagstaff Music Festival takes over the square from noon to 10pm, celebrating local bands with Local Honey headlining and supporting the Haven Walker Music Fund.
Later in September
Looking a little further out: FlagShakes runs September 17 through October 4 under the pines, and Pickin' in the Pines brings bluegrass to the Pepsi Amphitheater September 18-20. The Flagstaff Urban Flea Market sets up on Historic Route 66 on the second and fourth Saturdays through October.
